It’s probably worse than my 2016 Accent rental?

The heavy iron block, hard tires, & SWB make it really tail happy if you push it in a corner.

One of our friends works for Nissan as a tech line assistant(when the mechanic can’t figure it out they call this guy at Nissan). He said he put 800 miles on one of these and hated every second of it. Said everything about it is awful.

It’s finally in the body shop for the bumper scrape from the car wash a month ago.

Gotcha I remember that now. Sorry you’ve got a Versa for now but at least the Boostang is getting patched up.

I have had 2 friends discribe it as “the shittiest new car ever made”, yet I have a co-worker who does like cars drive one.
I’d be interested in your hottake.

It is a car for people who don’t much care about cars ... review away. Be objective.

I’m loving the subtle two-tone treatment between the bumper and body color. Could be lighting, could be a bad repair, I like to think Nissan just said F-it nobody is going to give a damn.

I’m pretty sure that the “we don’t care about this crappy car” is about right.

I also rented one of these dumpster fires. Although I actually enjoyed it more than the Nissan Sentra “upgrade” I was once given. Both were utter pieces of crap but at least the Versa sedan is honest about it. That CVT is literally death. I would rather have self driving cars than ever have to deal with a CVT piece of crap like that ever again. Although I have never driven a CVT I actually liked so I may need to see an actually good one before I choose self driving overlords.
Like 80s 3 speed automatics are better and more engaging than those god damn awful transmissions. I dont care if its actually faster and more fuel efficient, it just makes driving become immediately unfun. Maybe with like 200 extra horsepower or 1000 less pounds of weight then it could be fun again, regardless of that piece of shit gearbox.
Otherwise its not a terrible car. If taken from purely “just a car” perspective, it gets the job done and has the minimum necessary modern amenities and safety. These things will be like $2000 in 5 years which will become a pretty good value.

IT SHOULD BE REVIEWED IN ALL CAPS, SCREAMING ANGRILY ABOUT ALL OF THE STUPID DESIGN FEATURES. WHY ARE THE HEADLIGHT SO HUGE? WHY IS THE CVT ACTIVELY TRYING TO GET ME TO COMMIT SUICIDE? WHY ISNT THERE BLUETOOTH ON A 2017 CAR? WHO PUT TORTURE CHAMBERS INSTEAD OF SEATS IN THIS CAR? WHY IS THE TRUNK SO ODDLY SHAPED THAT I CANT FIT ANYTHING IN IT? WHY ISNT THIS PIECE OF SHIT A HATCHBACK?
